Ductless Mini Split Heat Pump System
With the arrival of autumn, temperatures are starting to cool and it may be time to start heating your home. However, this year, keeping your home comfortable can be more affordable and more efficient than ever. Here at Weather Crafters, we are up to date on the latest technology and the newest system in heating and cooling homes is here. The ductless mini split heat pump system by Mitsubishi is an efficient, clean, and easy way to heat and cool your home. There are a lot of great features with this system. It’s not really a question of “Should I get one?”, it’s more “When can I get one?” With temperatures cooling off, there is no better time than now.
How it Works
Unlike traditional HVAC units, which are designed for the size of your home, the ductless mini split heat pump system can adapt to the designated space. Normal HVAC units will produce hot or cold air and blow enough air for the whole house. If your HVAC unit is rated for a 2,000 square foot space, it will produce hot or cold air for 2,000 sqft. even if you only want half of the space to be heated or cooled. You can close the vents to unused rooms, but air still leaks out, or is pushed back into the vents, making the system work harder. The ductless mini split heat pump system works much more efficiently by only producing enough hot or cold air for the desired space, which can easily be adjusted by a convenient hand-held remote. Another great bonus of this system is being able to individually control the temperature of each room. In the past, if one room of your home is too cold, you would have to increase the temperature of the entire house to warm one room. If you prefer things a little warmer in your office, but your husband likes it cooler, you each have the option of setting the room you are in to the preferred temperature. Mitsubishi Electric’s INVERTER-driven compressor systems use refrigerant lines to connect an outdoor unit to one or more indoor air handlers. Instead of just having vents in each room, you have air handlers installed in different parts of the home. Using the remote, you can activate the individual handlers to adjust the settings.
Aesthetics
No more bulky window units and no more loud noises when the HVAC unit kicks on. The ductless mini split heat pump system is comprised of small white air handlers that can be easily installed anywhere on your wall. It can go high on the wall, or on the ceiling to avoid blocking windows, or be installed low on the wall, or in the floor. The system is sleek and small so you don’t have to worry about designating a space or a closet to hide an unsightly unit. The system operates quietly with a small “whoosh” sound that constantly supplies air and circulation to the room.
Efficiency
The ductless mini split heat pump system is Energy Star rated, which means you will save a lot. It saves energy by only supplying the exact amount of heated or cooled air needed for a specified area. Using advanced technology, the system self-monitors and adjusts to change conditions outside. If the temperature outside drops, the system will adjust to keep things at the correct temperature indoors, without you having to do anything. There is a personal comfort control option as well, which allows you to adjust the temperature, air speed, and direction of the system’s fans. If you have a special spot you love to sit, and you want more air on it, you can use the personalized controller to adjust things. The system also saves money by using washable filters, rather than disposable ones. This makes it much easier to change the filter because you only need to wash it, rather than remembering the model and size when you’re out shopping. By only working to heat or cool a specified zone, the system saves lots of energy, and in turn saves you lots on your bill.
System Options
When selecting which type of ductless mini split heat pump system you will need for each space, it’s important to consider the following: How often do you use the space? Do you live in an area that only requires heating or cooling, or do you need both? How big is the space?
